When buyers or sellers approach a business broker to buy or sell a business you would think that they would interview them and gage just how he / she can bring value to the process and success of the deal.
But it never ceases to amaze me how a principals assume ill intent or only use the broker to list / find deals. Hell there are books written by “professionals” in ancillary industries who position brokers as only in it for the money.
Good Business…..Good Long Term Business Comes from Creating Value. If you fail to hire the intermediary on that basis …..well then its on you as the principal.
